Baseless and irresponsible Allegations in Malaysian Chronicle

It was brought to my attention yesterday of an article dated---- which appeared in Malaysian Chronicle.

I would like to clarify that the article contained false and untruthful allegations, stating that I am a crony and have a hand and hidden interest in the decision to reject a RM30 Million donation offer  to UTAR to build student hostel.

I would like to clarify that at no time was I consulted nor am I a party to any decisions taken by UTAR as a separate, independent entity.

I would like to highlight that I do not own any property, investments and do not have any direct personal interest in the UTAR development and or within the vicinity thereof.

I hereby give notice to those responsible to remedy and rectify the damage done to my reputation resulting from the defamatory publication in Malaysian Chronicle.

I will further engage a legal counsel to take necessary legal recourse to seek justice, including making a police report.

I hereby call to responsibility the media and persons responsible in making the baseless allegations irresponsibly without verifying with me.

Let me remind those who make statements to be responsible in their words and deeds. Making statements, representations or publications with imputating or implicating me( why 'me'? Can use the word 'anyone' ?) with the intention of harming my(one's) reputation and knowing that it will harm my(one's) reputation is a criminal act punishable under Section 499 of the Penal Code.

Under Section 8A of the Printing Presses & Publications Act 1984, it is also an offence to publish false news, punishable with imprisonment of a term not exceeding 3 years or to a fine not exceeding RM20,000.
